Welcome

Welcome to Fence Posts’ first edition.  While everyone is welcome to read, the purpose of this blog is to call men to the Word of the Lord and in doing so to establish us as firm fence posts in the lives of the people around us. Deuteronomy 19:14 is the first of six places in the Bible where God commands us not to move our “neighbor’s boundary mark, which the ancestors have set”.  All of these instances serve as literal law against stealing the property of others.  However, this law applies to all boundaries set up by the Lord.  We live in a world where truth and morality are under attack.  In our human nature, or what the Bible calls “flesh”, we desire to be our own gods and to give account to no one.  As a high school teacher I see this desire working to destroy precious lives every day.  I trusted Jesus twenty-five years ago and many times I still feel that desire calling me.  In this culture where we are taught that the only truth is that there is no truth, we as men have been tasked by the Almighty God Himself with being the fence posts in the boundaries that He has set.

Gentlemen, it is our place not to define right and wrong but to teach our children that from before the foundation of the world God has defined right and wrong.  We must teach them the truth,  how we know it is true, and where we can find the truth.  And, men, it’s all for nothing if we do not live the truth.

Some of you may have been walking with God longer than I’ve been alive.  Maybe some of you aren’t sure about Him yet.  Wherever you are and however deeply you may be established, get into the Bible today.  Let Him drive the fence post of your life a little deeper into the ground.
