In God's Arms

I love when my kids climb up into my lap to be held.  Psalm 46:10-11 says:  "'Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.'  The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold."  However big, old, grizzled, or rugged we might be we need to understand that God also loves when we climb into His lap to be held by Him.  Just like our kids bring joy to our hearts, we who have trusted the Lord (who He calls His children) bring joy to His heart.  Think about that.  We make God happy.  Sometimes my kids come to me because they are hurt, scared or sad.  Sometimes they come to me because they want to play or just be closer to me.  In all the world there is nothing else like that.  And, because I am their daddy, it is one of my greatest desires to be the one that they run to for all of those things.  Today, come to God and get close to Him.  Tell him about it.  Give your worries and troubles to Him, because He cares and He loves you.
