The Free, the Brave, and the Jealous

This past weekend, the movie American Sniper destroyed records.  The American people spoke.  And, immediately the "intellectual" elites came out of the woodwork to berate and chastise the great unwashed, ignorant, mouth-breathing, simpletons who had the audacity to respect a man and a family who willingly walked into harm's way again and again to keep an enemy at bay who would love nothing more than to come here and commit unspeakable acts of evil against us, our wives and children.  You know these "intellectuals"; they can usually be seen looking down their arrogant noses at those of us who work for a living and like to think for ourselves.  And, as demonstrated this weekend, they attack the characters of real men as soon as they are a safe distance away or, in this case, passed away. Nevertheless, the American people spoke.  Watching a movie isn't enough, though.  We must, first and last, pray (and all in between, too).  And, as we pray, we have to fight the fight.  Support our military everywhere and every way you can.  Take care of their families.  Vote in political representatives who will support them.  Vote out those who won't.  Many of our representatives have betrayed our military heroes.  They need to hear from America, and it needs to be loud.  And, gentlemen, this weekend's box office receipts were loud.  Understand that this fight is bigger than politics.  On every front, fight the fight.  And, we cannot fight as the world fights.  Colossians 3:14-17 instructs us how to fight:  "And beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.  And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.  Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.  And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father."
