Gentlemen, it's good to be back.  Two and a half weeks ago our computer was taken out by an electrical storm.  But, a friend got us back in business.  In the interim, a lot has happened, but I want to focus on two incidents that need to be addressed.  The first is Michelle Obama's commencement speech at Tuskegee University, which you've likely already heard a little too much about.  The second is a student's paper that I read today. It's important to point out that Mrs. Obama's remarks were made from the platform of what was formerly the Tuskegee Institute.  The Tuskegee Institute was founded by former slaves who believed the only means by which black Americans could simultaneously achieve fair treatment under the law and social acceptance was by education and hard work.  They believed that they had to be better than excellent in every undertaking, and that's exactly what they did.  Standing in the institution built by those heroes, the first lady desecrated their memory and vandalized their work by informing the graduates that they, like herself and her husband, are all victims because of their skin color.

Today I saw a student working on a school assignment that praised communism as having "saved" people from poverty.  I have seen many other such teachings being studied by our students, that grossly misrepresent history, presenting some of history's most prolific and unrepentant murderers as heroes and champions of compassion.

I choose life.  I choose to acknowledge the One God.  I will teach my children the truth, and I'll teach it in my classroom and anywhere else that I can.  I am not a victim.  The Son has set me free.  Through us he offers His message of freedom to any and all who will trust Him.  Evil will never hold sway over the child of God.
