Our enemy, the devil, has one offensive weapon. He lies. He deceives those who are untrained in the armor of God. The shield, with which we will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one, is faith. What is faith? Faith is not merely believing; it is believing the Word of the Lord. When I know and believe what God says, I am guarded against any distortions of the truth, or outright lies. Our offensive weapon is the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Both of these articles of the armor teach us that the offense of the enemy is deception. When we hide behind the Word of God and strike back with the truth, we will break down the deception that holds so many captive.

In Deuteronomy 20:1, God taught the Israelites what to remember in order to keep a perspective that was consistent with the truth. He said: “When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.” God was reminding His people of the truth, that no matter what circumstances look like, when He has spoken, nothing else matters.

War is upon us. Our enemy seeks to destroy as many of us as he can. Many of us are failing to prepare ourselves for war. Many of us are failing to prepare our children for war. Refuse to send your children to be slaughtered. Refuse to fail your family. Refuse to be on friendly terms with the enemy. Refuse to entertain the lies that have the potential to destroy precious lives. Walk with God. Know His Word. Train your children in His Word. Stand without fear in the evil day.
