No One Is Able To Snatch Them Out Of The Father's Hand

My wife and I attended a wedding last weekend for a couple who were members of a youth group that I oversaw back when I was in college.  At the reception I was able to talk with a few others who were also part of that group, and I left there very encouraged by what I saw and heard.  (Let me say up front that I believe that their parents had far more to do with the outcome than I did.)  Those kids (well...they still are to me) are doing well on every front.  They did well in college.  They have top-flight jobs.  They married good people and are raising their own families.  And most importantly, they're serving the Lord.  They have not departed from the way that they were trained in.

As a high school teacher it is easy for me to become discouraged when I see what my students face and even commonly fall into.  It can make me afraid for my own children.  Last weekend was a reminder that the one Almighty God is able to make His people stand.  The Lord is able to keep what is entrusted to Him, and entrusting our kids to Him means more than praying for them (vitally important as prayer is).  Entrusting them to Him means obeying His Word with our own lives, as an example to them, raising them to know and obey His Word, and disciplining and training them in the way that they should go.  In John 10:27-29 Jesus said:  "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.  My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand."

So, to the family, my brothers and sisters, the church all over the world for all-time, know that faith placed in El-Shaddai will never be misplaced.  The Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:19, "Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, 'The Lord knows those who are His...'"
