The Last Days

I may be wrong, but I don't believe we have much time left here. The Bible teaches us that God's people should recognize the last days as they draw near. Our knowledge and recognition of the last days should cause us to more urgently seek the salvation of those around us. The evil and danger in the world will cause our love to grow cold if we let it. However, "God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline"(2 Timothy 1:7). 2 Peter chapter three teaches us that "in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, 'Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.'" We must not let our love grow cold because of persecution from those who hate the truth. Instead, let our hearts and hands be strengthened with the love of the Lord who "is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance."

I don't like to talk or think about this, but even if the worst should happen because of the world's persecution of the saints, we will still be the free people of God. "We are not of shrinking back to destruction, but of faith to the preserving of the soul." (Hebrews 10:39) Let us, like God, work for all to come to repentance.
